Sweden strengthens ties

The Sweden Pavilion at the Expo 2010 Shanghai celebrated 60 years of Sino-Sweden diplomatic relations on May 9 with Swedish folk music and dance. Later this month, the King of Sweden, Carl XVI Gustaf, will meet with Chinese leaders in Beijing, while Qin terra-cotta figures will be on exhibit in the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities in Stockholm.

As the first Western country to establish diplomatic relations with modern China, Sweden now has a close bond with the country and the two nations continue to deepen their economic and trade cooperation.
