Liu-Robles Shanghai showdown ruled out

BEIJING - China's Liu Xiang will not get his chance to test his form against Olympic 110m hurdles champion Dayron Robles at the Shanghai Diamond League meeting next week.

Robles, who took Liu's world record and Olympic title in 2008, was absent from the list of athletes entered for the May 23 meet released by organizers late on Wednesday.

Barbadian Ryan Brathwaite, who took Liu's world crown in Berlin last year, will, however, take part in the high hurdles on the second stop of the new elite tour.
