Rare photos reveal China's link with World Expos

Over 1,000 ink paintings, porcelain, oil works, sculptures, jade works and vintage photos are being auctioned off at the on-going Beijing Huachen Auctions' spring sales at Radegast Hotel CBD Beijing.

The most eye-catching are five rare photos which reveal China's participation in previous World Expos, with one showing delegates of the Qing Dynasty at the 1904 St Louis World Expo in Missouri, the United States. There are also 71 photos taken by foreign missionaries of street scenes in Old Shanghai from 1870-1920.
