Joint effort providing vigilance

By Lu Wei | China Daily | Updated: 2010-05-12 08:00

Both judicial and administrative relief are available at the Shanghai World Expo for potential violations of intellectual property protection, said Xu Chao, an official from the Department of Copyright Management under the National Copyright Administration.

Judicial recourse to intellectual property right (IPR) violations are offered through civil litigation or criminal prosecution, while administrative relief provides protection through intellectual property offices enforcing trademark and copyright laws, Xu said at a recent press conference held by the Information Office of the State Council.

Eight departments have joined a special campaign for intellectual property protection at the Expo.
