Patrols staying out of Indian territory

Beijing - China's army has not been patrolling in Indian territory and will never, a government spokeswoman said on Tuesday.

"The two countries are trying to resolve border issues through negotiations, and are dedicated to maintaining peace and stability in the disputed regions before the problem is solved," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu told reporters on Tuesday.

Jiang was responding to a report from the Times of India accusing China of entering Indian territory last week, citing "at least three incursions by motorized armed patrols". The paper did not name the source, which also said the frequency of Chinese "transgressions" in 2010 has increased compared with last year.
