School buses, drivers checked for safety

School buses in Beijing will have to pass strict checks this week, as part of a move to allay public concern following nationwide attacks.

Liu Yi, an official from the education commission in Chaoyang district, told METRO the first batch of school buses has already been sent for a thorough security check.

"We want to make sure every bus is safe. From May 10 to 14, all school buses in Chaoyang district will go through this check," Liu said.
