Newspapers back on track in subways

By Wang Wen | China Daily | Updated: 2010-05-11 07:55

Newspapers and magazines will again be sold at subway stations from Wednesday, following a five-month ban that authorities said was due to "safety concerns".

In January, the authorities said large crowds stopping at kiosks in crowded stations and walkways to buy the publications were potential hazards.

More than 5 million people use the subway system daily, and about 100,000 copies of various newspapers a day were being sold.
