Four vie to build new 5m-yuan home for Lei Feng

Four companies are bidding to rebuild China's only independent Lei Feng Museum - which has been struggling financially - for 5 million yuan at its original site.

Zhang Zhiyong, the vice-curator of the museum, said the redevelopment will consist of two four-story buildings, one to house the museum and the other to contain 80 one-bedroom flats.

"We are planning to open both buildings on March 5 - Lei Feng Day - next year," Zhang said.
