More than 80 percent of takeaway boxes from all kinds of restaurants in Beijing are toxic, an expert said on Monday.
The Beijing Kaifa Environmental Protection Technology Consulting Center launched lawsuits against two restaurants from the biggest shopping mall, New Yansha in Haidian district, for using poor quality takeaway boxes that contained paraffin and calcium carbonate.
The consulting center sued Donglaishun, a chain store established for more than 100 years, and Laobian Dumpling House, which is famous in the capital for its Northeast China food, for 6,694 yuan in compensation.
