Taiwan comes to town - twice

Taiwan Street finally opened last Friday in west Beijing following months of delays, just hours after the Taiwan Guild Hall, to signal the start of a new flow of Taiwan products into the mainland.

Zhai Jisong, deputy director of Shijingshan bureau of commerce, said the 500-m-long Taiwan Street is located at Shijingshan district.

With a total investment of 120 million yuan and decorated in Taiwan style, the project has already attracted more than 150 Taiwan-related retailers, restaurants and shops, he said.
