Drunken driver jailed for fatal collision

A drunken hit-and-run driver who caused a crash that took the life of a husband and seriously injured the man's wife was sentenced to three years in prison at Fengtai court after he paid the family more than 2 million yuan in compensation.

Lin Luanjian, 31, was driving a BMW X5 when he ran into the couple as they rode on an electric motorbike on Oct 9.

He fled the scene but was captured less than an hour later at a drink-driving checkpoint set up by Fengtai police.
