Listen to people's voices

Comment on "The roots of violence" (China Daily, May 5).

People should learn from tragedies, and it is high time that we paid more attention to the needs of every citizen. If people's petitions are valued and their voices heard, such tragedies would not take place so frequently. A soaring GDP would be a pathetic achievement if it is realized at the cost of social justice and equity.
