Editor's note: Screenwriter Zhou Ling penned the popular 1987 television adaptation of A Dream of Red Mansions on which the Pibada Opera Company performance is closely styled.

My adaptation of Hong Lou Meng (the 18th-century novel's Chinese name) has been shown in the DPRK and I'm sure that all the actors and actresses in the troupe are familiar with it.

However, I believe their performance will have many changes from my television version.
