Police probe extortion racket by ex-students

Tongzhou district police are investigating an extortion case after a woman said online that her son had been victimized by older children outside the school gate of Tongzhou No 4 Middle School.

According to the message posted by the mother, dozens of former students from the school, who have already been expelled, gather at the school gate to ask for money from students leaving the school.

She said they would beat those who refused to hand over the money. The woman said that they demanded 200 yuan from her son, and threatened to slap him if he did not hand over the money.
