Guoan's top shooter hits goals on and off pitch

Australian Joel Griffiths, the best-known foreign soccer player on the Beijing Guoan, which won the 2009 Chinese Football Association Super League crown, is also the club's top shooter.

Guoan is the only Chinese soccer team which entered the next stage of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). A recent poll on the AFC website showed Griffiths was the third-biggest vote-getter in terms of impressive goalmakers.

Beijing's boisterous fans are banking on Griffiths, who came to Beijing in February 2009, to help the team continue its impressive roll.
