City drivers could end up getting a refund on their vehicle taxes if a Fengtai district resident is successful with his appeal to the taxation bureau.
Thirty-year-old Chen Xiaoyu asked the office on Tuesday to refund part of the vehicle and vessel tax he has paid this year because he, like all other Beijing drivers, is not able to drive one day each week as a result of the car limitation policy in the capital - the so-called "no-car day".
Chen submitted an administrative reexamination application to Fengtai district taxation bureau seeking a 68.38-yuan refund.
