Moscow's beloved comes to Beijing

Chinese audiences are rather partial to operas, preferring them over ballet or a symphony concert.
But Russian opera performances remained a rarity here, until the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) invited Mariinsky Theater to bring its production Prince Igor to Beijing in December 2007.
Now, once again, the NCPA presents a major Russian opera company in the capital.
