More and better medical resources will gradually be moved from downtown areas to southern Beijing and satellite towns, the government said in a draft medical reform bill on Thursday.
The draft on the healthcare reform plan from 2010 to 2011 in Beijing was released on Thursday. The document will be posted on the municipal government's website by April 29 to solicit ideas from the public.
In order to siphon off the large number of patients from some larger hospitals, the city government will launch pilot projects in residential areas. Patients with non-emergency problems will be advised to see a doctor in community clinics.
