China Daily | Updated: 2010-04-21 07:57

With World Intellectual Property Day set for April 26, the inauguration ceremony for nationwide week of activities was held in Beijing yesterday.

The State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) together with other 24 central governmental departments and national non-governmental organizations will hold a wide-ranging series of events from April 20 to 26.

With the slogan "creation, protection and development", the events aim to increase public awareness, create a more innovation-friendly environment and showcase the progress China has made in intellectual property protection, said Liao Tao, director general of the General Affairs Office of SIPO.
