S. Korean welcomes challenges

China Daily | Updated: 2010-04-17 08:01

SUZHOU - South Korean Kim Do-hoon held his nerve and carded a three-under 69 to take a one-shot lead after the second round of the Volvo China Open on Friday.

The 21-year-old Kim, however, is not at ease coming into the weekend's final two rounds with compatriot Yang Yong-eun, the reigning champion of the PGA championship, as well as three-time Asian Tour Order of Merit winner Thongchai Jaidee, of Thailand, and Welshman Jamie Donaldson hot on his trail a shot behind.

"I thought I would be nervous because it is a big tournament but I'm very comfortable after two rounds," said a confident Kim. "Only two rounds have been played so there are two more to go. I am very confident right now. I'll play aggressively on the weekend. There are some world class players in this tournament, but I don't care."
