Faculty seeks reinstatement of two-child don

China Daily | Updated: 2010-04-15 08:24

Five faculty members from China Youth University for Political Sciences are asking the school's leaders to cancel the dismissal of an associate professor for having a second child.

Law professor Yang Zhizhu, who had his second baby girl three months ago, was found by the university to have violated China's family planning policy.

The national policy states that most couples can only have one child. When they have a second, they must pay a penalty charge for social welfare and can lose their jobs.
