Nations urged to implement consensus quickly
WASHINGTON - Although the Nuclear Security Summit, which concluded Tuesday in Washington, has been widely hailed, observers have pointed out that the meet is just an important first step.
They have urged the international community to make efforts to implement the consensus agreement of the 47 heads of state and international organizations during the two-day meeting. "Countries which have the resources should start to implement the agenda tomorrow. Each country should not just see what it can do by itself, but also how it can help others in the region and the world," said Michael Landweber, associate director of Partnership for a Secure America.
