BEIJING - Five more bodies were recovered from the flooded Wangjialing coal mine in Shanxi province on Sunday, taking the death toll to 33, rescue headquarters said.
The latest batch of fatalities came six days after 115 miners, trapped in the mine since March 28, were pulled out of the mine alive last Monday. It was dubbed a "miracle" in China's history of coal mine rescues.
A total of 153 miners were working underground when the flooding occurred.
