Chuchu seeks helping hand from schools

The nine-year-old boy whose hands were hacked off by his adoptive schizophrenic mother last April is now looking for a school in Beijing after being discharged from Jishuitan Hospital on Tuesday.

Liang Chuchu underwent several surgeries to reconnect and heal his hands in 2010, the most recent of which was on March 23 at Beijing's Jishuitan Hospital. His stitches were removed and he left the hospital on Tuesday, although he faces at least three months of recovery treatment.

"We have already spent two weeks in hospital and there are no beds left for recovery, so we have to rent a room," said Liang Wei, his adoptive father, who was a driver in Zhejiang province before his son was attacked.
