Huo Chunyang's style imparts new meaning to traditional Chinese painting

Born in Qingyuan county of Hebei province in 1946, Huo Chunyang is one of the nation's best with freehand brushwork that depicts flowers and birds.

After graduation from the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts in 1969, he became a teacher at the academy and is now a respected professor and head of the department of traditional Chinese painting at the school.
