Beijing ready for combat games

The mascot for the Sportaccord Combat Games 2010 Beijing was unveiled during the second technical delegates meeting this week. The mascot, named Dong Dong, uses the "Tiger" and "drum" as the core creative elements. This year is the Year of Tiger in China's Lunar calendar. Antonio Espinos, chairman of the SportAccord Combat Games committee said top competitors in each discipline will take part in the Games, from Aug 28 to Sept 4. The competition will showcase 13 martial arts and combat sports, both Olympic and non-Olympic, including wushu, aikido, boxing, judo, jujitsu, karate, kendo, kickboxing, Muay Thai, Sambo, sumo, taekwondo and wrestling.
