Man charged in plot to kill co-worker for compensation

A migrant worker was charged with attempted homicide for allegedly planning the murder of a co-worker to obtain death compensation, the Chaoyang prosecutor said on Thursday.
An accomplice is still at large, authorities said.
Sha Maerye, 24, of Sichuan province, a construction worker on subway Line 15 in the Cuigezhuang area of Chaoyang district, and the fugitive, surnamed Liu, a fellow townsman, had been working in Beijing for three years, according to Zhao Jia, a prosecutor from the Chaoyang district procuratorate.
