Say you're sorry, man tells police

By Wang Ru | China Daily | Updated: 2010-03-29 07:54

An angry young man is lobbying police for a formal apology after he was mistakenly identified as a criminal, allegedly beaten and then detained.

Tan Shuguang, 20, who was released last week from Yinghai public security bureau in Daxing district, was mistakenly arrested by auxiliary police and held overnight.

He says he has tried unsuccessfully to contact the Yinghai public security bureau since the incident to ask for an explanation of why he was picked up and to demand an apology.
