Huge heroin seizure reported

A gang of 11 alleged drug dealers has been rounded up by Beijing police who say they also seized almost 4 kg of heroin.

Wang Wenjie, a press officer at the Beijing municipal public security bureau, told METRO on Sunday that the gang, allegedly led by Ren Xi, a woman in her 30s, was mainly made up of family members.

Wang said Ren and the others conducted deals in 2007 and 2008, buying heroin from suppliers in Yunnan province and selling it in Beijing.
