Migrant worker dies after seeing unlicensed doctor

A migrant worker died after being treated by a garbage-collector-turned-doctor practicing without a license, according to the Chaoyang Health Inspection Team.

The deceased, surnamed Chen, was a 57-year-old migrant worker from Sichuan province living in Huanggang village, Chaoyang district. Chen reportedly caught a cold on Feb 26 and phoned a fellow Sichuan migrant, surnamed Wang, who lived in a neighboring village for treatment.

Wang prescribed three days worth of intravenous injections, which he began giving Chen. On the second day of treatment, Chen reportedly told Wang that his legs were swollen and Wang replied that nothing was wrong. Chen died during an injection on the third day, according to Beijing News.
