Center Mexico's stance

I have carefully read the page 7 article published on Monday, Feb 22 2010, under the title "Latin Caribbean alliance presents opening for China" written by Cheng Guangjin. I appreciate the coverage and analysis China Daily provides about news and events from Mexico and Latin America. However, I would like to refer to the following statement from that article:

"The emergence of Hugo Chavez, Venezuela's radical leftwing president, has helped create a clear political split in the region, with the likes of Ecuador, Bolivia and Nicaragua on the left and Colombia, Peru and Mexico on the right, with, until now, Brazil often bridging the deep fissure dividing the two."
