Quake lessons from China

Devastated Haiti and Chile could draw inspiration from the reconstruction success of Tangshan and Sichuan

Haiti was devastated by a 7.3 magnitude earthquake on Jan 12. A month and half later, an 8.8 magnitude quake rocked Chile. Two major quakes in such a short span have raised fears among people even thousands of miles away. They remind many of the Hollywood movie, 2012.

But life should move on. The question is how. And can people in the quake-hit areas expect a better life after reconstruction?
