Gobbi gets three-match ban

Fiorentina midfielder Massimo Gobbi has been banned from the Champions League for three matches after his red card for a high elbow in the Serie A side's last 16 first leg defeat at Bayern Munich last month. Gobbi was sent off in the 73rd minute of the controversial match which Bayern won thanks to a late Miroslav Klose goal that both coaches agreed had been scored from an offside position. Fiorentina said they would appeal against the UEFA ban.
