Migrant kids still barred from school

High expense, great distance and unacceptable conditions have kept students from migrant families out of school in Beijing.

Despite promises from Chaoyang district educational authorities that all children of migrant workers attending schools set for demolition will get a chance to continue their study, thousands remain stranded.

Liu Libin, vice director of the Chaoyang District Commission of Education, said a plan to reassign these children to other schools has been created by the education commission and the county committees where the demolished schools are located.
