By Meng Jing | China Daily | Updated: 2010-03-03 07:43

Calls for a stricter screening system to deter the trafficking in wild animal parts intensified after a man was found selling a tiger tooth online in Beijing.

The man, surnamed Sun, posted a listing on beijing.baixing.com on Sunday seeking 70,000 yuan ($10,250) for a 15-cm-long tooth of a Siberian tiger.

He posted three photographs of the sharp tooth and his mobile number. The posting said the tooth is his private possession and that the price is negotiable.
