China, Croatia pledge to work toward closer ties

Beijing - China and Croatia have agreed to make joint efforts to push friendly bilateral ties. And the two countries have vowed to step up cooperation in tourism, humanities and other related fields.

The pledge was made on Monday during discussions between Vice-President Xi Jinping and Croatian Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Gordan Jandrokovic

Xi said he understood Croatia's ambition to join the European Union, and hoped it would achieve its foreign policy goal as soon as possible.
