An integrated Asia is fine but ...

Every European will agree with M.D. Nalapat's conclusion ("Adage of unity and division fits Asia" China Daily, Feb 26) that Asian countries should be united and never "travel the blood-stained road that Europe did till 1945 to achieve lasting peace".

Nalapat's appeal that Asian scholars must free their minds of the concepts of slavery designed in Europe is commendable. The author's idea of "tapping into the synergy among nations" should certainly be made into an art to be pursued devoutly by all responsible governments in Asia as well as the rest of the world.
