Anta FY profit rises 40%

Anta Sports Products Ltd, China's largest maker of athletic shoes, said 2009 profit increased 40 percent as it opened more stores to meet rising domestic demand for casual clothing. Net income rose to 1.25 billion yuan, or 0.50 yuan a share, from 894.8 million yuan, or 0.36 yuan, in 2008, the company said in a regulatory filing. Sales rose 27 percent to 5.87 billion yuan.
