Judges advised to be vigilant over companions

By Zheng Caixiong and Xiao Jingwen | China Daily | Updated: 2010-02-25 07:50

GUANGZHOU: A senior judge yesterday urged fellow judges across South China's Guangdong province to stay away from lawyers and businessmen to ensure justice is cleanly served.

"We stand firmly against any close contact between judges, lawyers and business people," Zheng E, president of Guangdong High People's Court, said.

Speaking to a conference in the provincial capital of Guangzhou, Zheng recommended that an "isolation belt" be established between judges, lawyers and business people to prevent judicial corruption.
