Illegal cabbie on trial

The driver of an unlicensed taxi, who allegedly dragged a law enforcement official 300 m along the road at Beijing Capital International Airport, has been charged at Chaoyang district court, the court said yesterday.

The 31-year-old man, surnamed Chang, drove a Buick car to the airport and picked up three passengers on March 23, 2009. When Chang was asked to comply with a vehicle inspection, he allegedly started the engine and dragged the official, leaving him with minor injuries.
