Autopsy says five children drowned

By Li Xinzhu | China Daily | Updated: 2010-02-24 07:42

Shanghai: Autopsies of five children who were found in a pond on Feb 22, four days after they were reported missing in Zhejiang province, indicate they drowned, police said yesterday.

Preliminary results of the autopsies showed all bodies have excessive amounts of water in the lungs, which might be the cause of death, police said.

Four siblings, all residents of Tiantai county, were reported missing on Feb 18. Their bodies were discovered in a fish-farm pond near their homes four days later.
