In the Philippines, new hope for endangered birds

Newly-hatched Hyacinth Macaws, an endangered species, rest inside their incubator at the Birds International Avicultural Park, Breeding and Research Center in Quezon City, Metro Manila, yesterday. Around 2,000 to 3,000 parrots of various species are bred every year inside the facility, which aims to protect them from illegal poaching and forest destruction.
