Syringe attacker jailed for two and a half years

A migrant worker, who made off with 100 yuan after stealing from a shop and who then threatened to stab an armed police officer with a syringe, has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison, Fengtai district court said yesterday.

The court also announced the 26-year-old had been fined 5,000 yuan.

Huang Xu was convicted of robbing a cigarette vendor in Liuliqiao, Fengtai district, on Sept 9.
