Wu appointed special envoy for Korean Peninsula affairs

Former vice-foreign minister Wu Dawei will continue to lead the Chinese delegation in the Six-Party Talks, a reappointment experts said showed China's determination to push for the resumption of the talks.

But they also said the move does not necessarily mean the talks will restart soon.

The Foreign Ministry announced yesterday that the Chinese government decided to appoint Wu as special representative for Korean Peninsula affairs and he will be in charge of the Six-Party Talks and related issues.
