'Schizophrenic' murderous father caught

A man, who claimed to have killed his wife and child and then attempted suicide, will be the subject of a psychological examination to determine his sanity, Haidian police said yesterday.

Liu Zhenyu, 57, was found unconscious by police in the courtyard of his home in Yongfeng village, Haidian district, on Feb 2, following a tip-off at 10 am from a concerned colleague of his daughter after she failed to turn up for work.

Officers then found the bodies of two women, later confirmed as his wife and daughter, lying dead in a nearby room.
