Reform starts with staff cut

Indonesia plans to cut 15 percent of staff at the Attorney General's office over five years to improve performance, although full reform of the institution could take until 2025, the Attorney General said yesterday.

Hendarman Supandji, Attorney General since 2007, said in an interview that state prosecutors needed to be paid far better wages to avoid being tempted by corruption.
