More infringements scoped
The Industrial and Commercial Bureau of Guangzhou, capital of the province, investigated 1,856 trademark infringements in 2009, a 5 percent increase over a year previous, on goods valued at more than 26 million yuan.
About 91 percent of infringement cases involved foreign trademarks. Of those, 476 were on French brands, 374 targeted US trademarks and 227 related to Japanese trademarks.
