China 'agrees to cancel Iraq debt'

BAGHDAD: Iraq said yesterday that China had agreed to write off 80 percent of an estimated $8.5 billion debt due to it from Saddam Hussein's era. A major portion of that regime's foreign debt has been canceled by key creditor nations.
