No phones for youngsters

Children younger than 12 should not be allowed to use mobile phones, since pornographic information is too easy to obtain, a professor cited by information portal cnwest.com said yesterday.

"Even with the crackdown on pornographic information on cell phones, children younger than 12 should be banned from using mobiles by law," said Yang Weiping, a professor of Shaanxi Normal University and a member of the provincial branch of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
