DDS, a courier firm of only three people, was founded in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, on Oct 1, 1997. It was mainly doing courier business within the city.

After 12 years' development, DDS owned dozens of branches scattered in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Shanghai and Beijing. It becomes a black horse in the courier business in 2009, with more than 12,000 employees, 2,400 vehicles, and 800 service stations, handling an average of 200,000 pieces per day.

DDS started to enter the courier market of eastern China last February. It planned to recruit 10,000 staff in Shanghai. But in November, it faced a cash-flow problem because of the fast expansion, and closed its branch company there.
